A Spice Of Jazz – Sounds Of Life
Had to check and double check that I had never had this classic on. Starts out with a minute of straight snare. Snappy, bit lilting. Then a xylophone, and the bass comes in. The sections just after the 2 and 4 minute mark are particularly choice. Little sax licks pop up here and there. It does drag a bit in places, but something about the production, and it’s mixability (this is Source Direct under another guise) - choice.
